Hong Kong
From 2019 to 2021, I led the development of a full-stack 3D pipeline for apparel and footwear at Li & Fung in Hong Kong. Our goal was to digitize the product development process to reduce waste, speed up review cycles, and support sustainability efforts. We used Blender, Clo3D, Browzwear, and Shoemaster, with tools built in Python and C++, all deployed through AWS infrastructure.
I designed systems to capture accurate material physics, elasticity, weight, and cost data. For shoes, I developed a custom pipeline using Shoemaster and Blender, including a technique to generate full PBR material sets from single-image scans—a critical solution for situations where physical swatches were minimal or only briefly available.
All outputs—rendered turntables, metadata, and structured pricing info—were integrated into BeProduct, a third-party platform that provided U.S.-based buyers with centralized access to digital product reviews. This eliminated the need for physical samples in many cases, shortening development timelines and aligning with Li & Fung’s environmental and digital transformation goals.
